Your target is clear. Reaching it shouldn't be the hard part.

The Sourcier gives private-markets firms a trained team that reaches the owners and investors on their list, under their own name, so they can spend their time on the conversations that matter.

Why we exist

Most firms we speak to know exactly who they want to buy or raise from. Getting in front of enough of those people, every week, is where it stalls.

It stops when a deal starts.

Outreach is the first thing to go when a live deal needs you. A month later, there's nothing new to talk about.

One person only goes so far.

Writing to people properly takes time. One or two people, between other work, reach a small part of a long list.

Hiring fixes it slowly.

Finding, training and managing someone takes months, and adds a job you didn't want: running an outreach team.

The name

We liked a word for someone patient and skilled at finding what isn't obvious. We didn't want to borrow anything more from it than that.

sourcier
noun · soor-SYAY · French

A water diviner: someone who finds what others can't see from the surface. Ours find the people in your market worth meeting, and bring them to your calendar.

Who we recruit

Sourciers are real people on our team, each with their own email address and LinkedIn profile. We look for people who write clearly, read carefully and take a "no" gracefully: the qualities that make someone worth replying to.

Each sourcier works for one client at a time. While you're a client, your sourciers work only on your firm.

How they're trained

Before a sourcier writes to anyone on your list, they're trained in:

  • Professional outreach: how to approach someone who isn't expecting to hear from you, and how to make it easy for them to decline.
  • The basics of private markets: how owners, investors and advisers think about a first conversation.
  • Handling replies: questions, "not now", "wrong person" and "no".
  • Your firm: your thesis, how you'd like to come across, and anything people should never be told.

Training doesn't stop at launch. Your lead sourcier reviews the team's work and shares what's working across it.

Your lead sourcier

Every client has one lead sourcier. They run your onboarding, manage every sourcier on your account and are your single point of contact. You never manage sourciers yourself.

Why we don't publish names

Our sourciers work under our clients' names, as part of their teams. So we describe them on this site by role only. You won't need to meet them. You deal with one person, your lead sourcier, and agree with them at onboarding how your firm is represented on email and LinkedIn.

What we hold to

Your name is on every message. These are the rules we keep because of it.

Trained people, not bots.

Every conversation is handled by a sourcier trained in professional outreach. Tools keep us organised. They never write to people on their own.

Easy to scale.

Teams start at three sourciers. Need more reach? We add a sourcier who is already trained and set up, not more messages to the same people.

Your list stays yours.

Your list is never shared with, or reused for, another client, and we never name our clients. How we protect it

Email and LinkedIn only.

A few messages per person at most, each easy to decline, and every "no" honoured. Nobody gets a cold phone call.

A one-page plan for your target: team size, how many people you'd reach, and how long your list would last.
